CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme
(Formerly The Carbon Reduction Commitment)

The timescale for the delivery of the Qualification Packs for the Government’s new CRC scheme has now been put back to November 2009.

We realise that many of our clients will require some level of advice and assistance with regards to the compilation of data and data evidence packs in preparation for the on-line submission to the Environment Agency.

If you use less than 3,000,000 kWh of Half Hourly electricity annually
Although a non participant in the scheme, you are required to disclose a list of all your Half Hourly Meters and have calculated your total Half Hourly and AMR Metered electricity usage in order to tick a box on-line to confirm your company is below the threshold.

If you use more than 3,000,000 kWh of Half Hourly electricity annually
Although a non participant in the scheme, you are required to disclose a list of all your Half Hourly Meters and disclose your total Half Hourly and AMR Metered electricity usage.

If you use more than 6,000,000 kWh of Half Hourly electricity annually
As a full participant in the scheme, you are required to disclose a list of all your Half Hourly Meters and disclose itemised Half Hourly and AMR Metered electricity usage.

CRC Fees
The fees payable under the scheme have recently changed with the introduction of an annual fee, as shown below.

Registration Period
The registration period is April-September 2010 so there is still plenty of time to collate the correct data ready for on-line submission.

Should you require LSI to assist your company in this process, we will require confirmation of the following:

1. Your company appointed contact for all CRC related issues – this is vital as we will not be able to do our job properly unless we have a responsible dedicated point of contact within your organisation to work with and who will be readily available to give any information that we require.

2. Completion of the attached Half Hourly Site Schedule

3. The degree of assistance that you anticipate your company will require. As a guide please see below:

Level 1 – Full assistance in collating half hourly data, compilation of any evidence packs, online submission of data, assistance with any CRC correspondence.

Level 2 – Collation of data, assistance with any CRC correspondence.

Level 3 – Collation of half hourly data only

Please note that a charge will be levied for these services, however, until we have had the opportunity to study the implications of the registration packs and on-line registration, we are unable to be specific about the level of charges that may apply and will keep you fully up to date in this regard.

4. Please find attached a schedule of half hourly sites, in some instances these supplies may not currently be on contract via LSI. Should you wish to appoint LSI as your CRC coordinator, the schedule will need to be carefully checked for any omissions or wrong information and the last 2 columns will need to be completed by you and returned to us.

Whilst LSI continually monitors the CRC updates these cannot always be relied on and so we are very much reliant on you to inform us as soon as you receive your Qualification Pack.
